Early October in Spain

 

What a wonderful place to have a garden party! Leonie tells us in her own words:

 

"Well I think the Garden Party went very well. After torrential rain on Thursday flooding gardens and roads, we were blessed with beautiful sunshine and an attendance of some 60 plus. We have made around €1200.

 

We had ten gifts for the raffle donated by local businesses. I will send them a 'thank you' letter and also leave one in the local bars where most of the tickets were sold, as everyone is always keen to know how much was made. Also 'given' to us was a short concert by a local ladies choir.

 

 

 

 

I am also sending the local newspaper a letter thanking my helpers. People really do appreciate the contact from Edward's Trust, particularly as it is a UK based charity. It has been suggested you open a branch out here - but I think you have enough to cope with at the moment! Though - thinking about it - good way for your staff to take turns topping up their sunshine hours!!!.

Well, Leonie, I think a fair few staff would like the opportunity of more sun! Oh... and what was this about asking Evi if she was up for a 'song and a dance' next time around? Have you any idea what you are letting yourself in for? She never stops! She's like a personal disco!!!
