"Members and Friends of Blackwell Club, some in their seventies, took to the towpath for the 7th annual Blackwell Challenge, on the seventh day of the seventh month, 2007. Hoping to raise funds to add to over £77,000 raised bythe previous six challenges, 41 people took part.

Unlike previous events, which have been long distance cycle rides, this year's Challenge took the form of a walk along the Worcester and Birmingham Canal.

A party of 20 walkers tackled the full 20 miles from Worcester Cathedral back to Blackwell and 21 joined for the second half.

All to help raise money for Edward's Trust, Clic Cancer Care for Children and The County Air Ambulance, the three charities supported by the Club. Blackwell Scouts provided some very welcome support with tea and biscuits along the route"
