Krys and Les (with bikes!) enjoying the sunshine

"Sunday 16th July began with bright sunshine and the promise of a very hot day. Having slapped on the sun cream we mounted our bikes and set off for Manchester armed with water bottles, puncture kit and optimism!

 

"The start at Albert Square was well organised and at 8:00am we were on our way, bemused by the strict instruction never to go through red lights - only to be waved through the first few sets!

 

"A watering and toilet stop at Haigh Hall was the first break, followed by a pleasant ride down through the grounds of the Hall towards Wigan. We stopped once more for the loo and water, and finally arrived at 1:00pm in Blackpool to much appreciated clapping and cheering from the crowd.

 

"The last 30 minutes were hard, but it was worth it, especially given the £500 we have raised from the many friends and colleagues who sponsored us. A very worth while day!"
