British 10K London Run 2008

 

It's not too late to sponsor Edward's Trust in the British 10K London Run!!

Congratulations to all of the 67 runners and their multitude of supporters

 

We are delighted to say that the 67 loyal and brave supporters entered this year's British 10k London Run in aid of Edward's Trust. Everyone finished the course in good time and (more importantly) with no ill effects!

 

The day began with lots of our runners joining together outside The National Gallery in Trafalgar Square for a photo shoot under quite threatening black clouds. Luckily, apart from a heavy burst of rain just as the run started, the weather was very kind to us and the rain held off for the rest of the morning.

 

The atmosphere was fantastic as thousands of runners made their way towards the start near Hyde Park Corner. Whilst most of the Edward's Trust runners dressed in a fairly conservative and athletic manner, with Edward's Trust kite proudly emblazed on their T-shirts, many runners wore more outlandish costumes which included someone dressed as a rhinoceros and a man who 'appeared' to be naked!

 

The route took us past Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament, The London Eye and Westminster Abbey and all along the route we were encouraged by onlookers who shouted and clapped their support as we passed. Everyone had finished the run by 11:15am and proudly collected their finishers' medals.

 

So thank you again to everyone who entered this event and to those who have supported Edward's Trust through sponsorship. We couldn't have done it without you! We hope you enjoy the looking at our photo album - and if you have any more.... send them in, we would love to see them.
